The one good thing about the lockdown is that we’re now getting so much more time to spend time with our pets. We get to take them on multiple walks, train them if needed, spoil them with cuddles and treats all the time. But there’s another fun activity that you can do with your dog—cook.
Yes, have a cooking date night with your dog for a change and make them something they love. A lot of puppers that I have met have always shown a great liking for ice cream. Sadly, sharing feeding them ice cream is something I don’t feel quite safe to do for their health. Mainly because dairy is something I avoid giving dogs. And so, I had to look up for ice cream recipes that are safe for dogs to consume. Luckily, I found one berry ice cream recipe that looked super easy and quick to make and I thought I’d share it with you guys too! So, scroll down to check out the full recipe.
What You’ll Need
1 cup mixed berries—strawberry, blueberry, blackberry, and any other berries you wish to add
½ cup of cold water
Here’s How You Can Put It All Together
Step 1: Throw in all the berries and a little of the 1/2 cup cold water in a food processor and continue to pulse it until it becomes smooth.
Step 2: Proceed to add water as required to get your desired texture.
Step 3: Toss it in the freezer for half an hour to get the perfect texture.
Tip: You can replace cold water with ice cubes to get your desired texture too.
This one will be more like a sorbet but it’s better than giving your dog dairy ice cream with all the sugar in it! Making sure we know what’s right and what’s not for our dogs to consume is so important. What looks harmless to us could even prove fatal for dogs. So, always do your research before feeding them something off your plate!
