Actor Richa Chadha is known for her honest opinions and someone who believes in saying it like it is. In her recent blog post, the actor went on to reveal how much she was paid for her film, Gangs Of Wasseypur. The film was made in two parts and released in the year 2012.
Richa claimed that she was paid 2.5 lakhs for both the parts. She said—
And that’s alright. (Anurag) Kashyap took a chance on me, and for that I am forever grateful. I didn’t even expect to be paid for a break like that. The film went on to become a cult hit. My continuing career is testament to that.
The actor also added the economic side of filmmaking and claimed—
If I am not wrong, again, (going by rules for residual payments in other film industries) even if I were to earn royalty of this film, (if I worked under the SAG guidelines, I would get only be getting a small percentage, under different categories capped at a maximum of 6.2 percent).
And now, the director of the cult film Anurag Kashyap took to his Twitter to react to the blog. The filmmaker revealed how a majority of the crew were paid in similar figures and how he had to forfeit his fees to helm the film.
