Kannada actor Prajwal Devraj‘s wife, Ragini Chandran is all set to make her debut in Sandalwood with the film, Law. Directed by Raghu Samarth, the film is all set to release today on Amazon Prime — becoming the first Kannada film to release on OTT.
Talking about the film, Ragini plays the central character, a lawyer called Nandini. She says her character is someone who stands up for herself and the other women around her and fights for justice at all times. She also adds, “This is something all women should watch. I hope they do.”
On learning that the film is about a strong and powerful portrayal of law and lawyers, many law students and women took to their social media to laud the film for finally representing law and lawyers in mainstream cinema.
Originally a classical dancer, Ragini is married to the popular actor, Prajwal Devaraj. In an Etimes report, Ragini says having a supportive husband, who is already a big actor, helped her. She says, “How many women begin their acting career after marriage? Prajwal used to come on set and help me with the dialogue delivery. Being a classical dancer, it is easy to over-emote. He taught me subtleties.”
Created by Puneeth Rajkumar’s PRK Productions, the film is produced by Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar and M Govinda. It also features Siri Prahlad, Achyuth Kumar, Sudharani, and veteran actor Mukyamanthri Chandru in prominent roles.
