OTT platforms seem to be the reigning platforms for all kinds of content these days, be it movies, web series, reality TV shows, and many more such content. While such platforms were a boon for aspiring actors who found it hard to take the pressure of box office numbers, looks like even seasoned actors are looking at OTT platforms as a viable option. This is not just because of the pandemic. The mere success of some shows like Sacred Games and Family Man have changed how people view such platforms.
On that note, a recent report in Bollywood Hungama suggests that writers of Family Man and the film Stree Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK popularly known as Raj-DK are currently developing a new web show. What’s more? They’re looking to cast Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor in the project. A source close to the development says that the project is still in its preliminary stages and that the lockdown has thrown things out of whack. The source confirmed that Raj and DK were in talks with Shahid and the actor seemed interested in the project. But it is still to be seen whether something fruitful comes out of it.
Raj and DK will be seen working with Shah Rukh Khan in a yet to be disclosed project which, they say, is their favourite script. They have completed the shooting for Family Man 2 and are planning to take Go Goa Gone 2 on floors very soon. The two were in the news again this year for helming the Indian version of global series Citadel, produced by Joe and Anthony Russo of Avengers fame.
As for Shahid Kapoor, his last release was Kabir Singh and was working on a cricket-flick called Jersey when the pandemic hit and shoot had to be halted.
