In unfortunate news today, Elvis Presley‘s only grandson, Benjamin Keough, passed away yesterday at 27. A TMZ report states that Keough was found in Calabasas near Los Angeles, dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Benjamin’s mother, and Elvis’s daughter, Lisa Marie Presley’s manager confirmed the news to Agence France-Presse (AFP). The local press in the city is reporting it as an apparent suicide.
Lisa Marie Presley is Elvis’ only daughter from his marriage to Priscilla Presley. The report quoted manager, Roger Widynowski, as saying that she was “heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated” and that she adored her son, who was the love of her life. They added that she was trying to stay strong for her oldest daughter Riley Keough and her 11-year-old twins.

From the pictures of Benjamin, one thing that really struck me was how he looked so similar to his grandfather. Benjamin was the son of musician Danny Keough and the TMZ report states that the late 27-year-old was also a musician, apart from dabbled in acting.
The report also mentions that Benjamin was last seen publicly during Elvis’ 40-year death anniversary gathering at Graceland.
