Celebrities always need to be alert about their safety. But it’s mostly from crowds and stalkers, and very seldom about bombs. Guess Tamil actor Vijay is one of those exceptions to the case as his Chennai home recently received a bomb threat by an anonymous caller.
According to a report by The News Minute, the police immediately did a thorough search of the entire house in Saligramam, Chennai on the midnight of July 4th. After confirming the threat was baseless, they traced the caller to a 21-year-old man from Marakkanam in Villupuram district. The young man apparently suffers from psycho-social disabilities and has been let off with a warning.
But interestingly, this is not the first time he has made a call like that. The police inspector of Marakkam was quoted by the publication as saying that the man has previously made such calls to former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, Puducherry Chief Minister, Narayanaswamy and Puducherry Governor, Kiran Bedi in the past. The inspector also added that when they confronted him, he agreed to have done it using one of his family member’s phones as he doesn’t own one.
Similar calls were also made to actor Rajinikanth‘s house in Chennai, which were also proved to be a hoax.
On the work front, actor Vijay is awaiting the release of his film, Master. The film was supposed to release in April, but has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The movie also stars Vijay Setupathi and Malavika Mohanan in lead roles.
