With the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra, it is becoming difficult for most people to find beds in hospitals. And this goes for both — patients who are testing positive for the virus as well as for patients who have other medical emergencies. Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya decided to help one such person who had another medical issue, who was in need of a bed.
Divyanka ‘desperately’ tweeted to the BMC saying it is important for patients to get fair admission in hospitals — with or without COVID-19. A user called Jyot Agnani had tweeted that her friend’s father was in dire need of medical attention and that his oxygen levels were dropping. Deeply moved by this message, Divyanka took to her Twitter saying, “Will we keep counting depressing numbers in news papers or will someone give him a bed please? This one is a desperate tweet. I hope people in need get fair admission to hospital (with or without Covid).”

Soon after she tweeted, the BMC’s R-S Ward was quick to respond to her and requested for details so they can act on it. Elated by the super quick response by the officials, the actress replied thanking them for being prompt.

This is such a sweet gesture by the actress and it’s so nice to see celebrities use their platforms and their privilege responsibly. Way to go, Divyanka!
