I feel like Sonakshi Sinha has had a pretty bad time in B-town, thanks to her trolls. She’s quite a beautiful girl who was bullied relentlessly for her body type. But she took all of this mayhem and drama in her stride and looks like she worked it all off. She looks fabulous with her new body goals and has been milking it by upping the fashion ante.
She’s been style by Mohit Rai who really knows what women want and gives them exactly that. It’s always one step ahead of the game with Sonakshi. Even with her western wear looks, I’ve noticed quite the change in her appearance. It’s elegant, fun and playful, it really sets a youthful tone as well.
Here’s a look at Sonakshi’s best Indo-Western ensembles:
1) Sonakshi’s Printed Skirt
Sonakshi has been caught wearing Anamika Khanna an umpteen amount of times and Sona really does justice to every single look as well. This fabulous printed skirt with a thigh-high slit and unfinished fringed ends look fantastic when paired against the black and white Indian printed jacket. The embellished jacket with long sleeves also works for the likes of women who are really conscious of their arms. A simple black crop top and oodles of silver jewellery finished out her look. What’s modern about this look is her choice of footwear and of course the style of this skirt.
2) Palazzo Pants
Who doesn’t love a pair of lightweight palazzo pants? Sonakshi is also rocking print-on-print in this Punit Balana number. The ruffled ends on the long sleeves that match the hem of the jacket all add length to her body including the stripe print on her longline jacket. This jacket is off-set with bandhani print palazzo pants and a black knot front crop-top. Doesn’t Sonakshi look A-one in this look? The modernness definitely comes from the crop-top, don’t you think?
3) Sonakshi’s Lace Wrap Skirt
This wrap skirt, blush pink, stitched saree paired with a lace longline jacket again makes Sonakshi’s body look so lean and elongated. She paired her look with a nice chunky, oxidised necklace and silver earrings. Wavy locks and monochrome makeup really pulled her look together. Truthfully its the colour and the lace that makes the ensemble a modern statement.
4) Tiered Midi-Skirt
This billowy Anita Dongre number really sets the tone for summer. A pool party, a brunch, it just sorta works for any vibe. The floral print, spaghetti crop-top paired with a tiered, midi skirt and lightweight jacket make quite the splash together. The mango toned outfit also look fab against brown skin and tousled wavy hair FTW! The hair and makeup and accessories and print make this look westernised.
5) Sonakshi In Wide-leg Capri Pants
Hello! Hot Pink pants! I literally can’t stop looking at them, like a moth being drawn to a flame. The printed, kimono style, organza jacket with a contrast print black & white lapel looks really interesting. The pairing of it against the tribalesque black crop-top also works seamlessly with those pants. I do wish Sonakshi’s heels were a tad bit higher so they wouldn’t cut her height as awkwardly as they are with these mary-janes. The addition of the bum bah seemed unnecessary but sorta what kinda makes this look western, no?
6) Maxi Skirt
This matching co-ord set that Sonakshi wears from KoAi has an Indianess about it thanks to the print. The cropped jacket with tie front detail makes it quite a modern ensemble. Inside it is a crop-top that matches the print of the skirt. Her pulled-back hair with jhumki style hoops also adds an old-world charm to this look.
7) Sonakshi’s Cape Jacket
A classic black look always goes a long way. High-waist, wide-leg trousers and a crop top that shows a smidge of your tummy is always a classy way to dress. To add another layer to this look is this pleated, cape jacket that is bejewelled at the collar. The essence of the whole looks is modern, yet there’s a subtle Indian touch to it. Sonakshi is a wearing Gaurav Gupta ensemble here.
