Over the past few years, we have seen several iconic pantsuits looks on Bollywood celebrities. From power-shoulders and slouchy fits to pastel and neon hues, the pantsuit went onto to become that one coveted wardrobe staple for our stars. Despite the varied textures, patterns, prints and colours, the one commonality amongst these pantsuits looks and outfits that involved a blazer was that all of them were longline & oversized.
However, since the warmer months are here, the hems of our clothes are bound to get shorter but that does not mean we let go of the trendy and sturdy blazer. Even blazers for spring and summer are cropped and come in classic hues and prints, as well as cool soothing pastel colours. These blazers stop right at the waist, elongating your upper torso, and can be a stylish update to your wardrobe.
Take a look at how these Bollywood celebrities have styled their cropped blazers:
#1. Jacqueline Fernandez‘ Check Cropped Balzer
Jacqueline did a peek-a-boo look in this outfit. She wore a pair of black high waist trousers, from Rimzim Dadu, which she styled with a simple black bandeau on the inside. The actress then layered the look with a cropped blazer, showing off her midriff.
Jacqueline added a black pocket square to the blazer. The pearl necklace added a touch of elegance; you can never go wrong with a pair of classic patent leather pumps. For her beauty look, she wore a classic ’80s style old school bun and finished the look with a winged liner.
#2. Athiya Shetty‘s Matching Cropped Blazer Set
Athiya attended a fashion show wearing separates from Kunal Rawal. The separates included a pair of textured, straight leg, high waist, navy trousers, along with a matching cropped blazer. Unlike Jacquline who went with a classic old school approach in her styling, Athiya chose the fusion route. She styled the look with silver jewellery from Amrapali and wore silver strapped Louboutins. She also carried a tiny oxidised Rajasthani silver purse.
#3. Shraddha Kapoor‘s Feminine Blazer Look
Now here is a look that is perfect for those summer Sunday brunches. For a round of movie promotions, Shraddha wore a Judy Zhang outfit. I like how she skipped the pants and chose to style her cropped blazer with a bright yellow, accordion-pleated midi skirt. She kept the styling feminine, with a silk cami worn under the blazer, neutral ankle-strap sandals, and dainty jewellery.
#4. Maliaka Arora‘s Double-Breasted Cropped Blazer
Malaika Arora has never been one to shy away from experimenting, so of course, she had to try the cropped blazer trend. Another major trend when it comes to blazers is double-breasted necklines. So doing both a cropped hemline and double-breasted neckline, Malaika wore a Tako Mekvabidze set. What makes this particular look a head-turner is the icy blue hue, and the metallic sheen thanks to the satin fabric.
#5. Parineeti Chopra‘s Monochromatic Pantsuit
When in doubt, go monochrome. Parineeti Chopra did just that as she wore a sharp monochrome look by a British luxury brand The House of CB. Both the pants and blazer were cropped from the hem, making the proportions of the look more symmetrical. She styled the look with simple black pumps, effortless wavy hair and smokey eyes.
