While we all are sitting back home and doing our bit to curb the spread of the deadly COVID-19 virus, the cops in the country are fighting outside and remain vulnerably exposed to the coronavirus infection. They are constantly working — from guarding the containment zones, handling thousands of migrants, to making sure no one gets outside. The cases have rapidly increased in the country and our B-town celebrities are doing their bit by donating towards various funds. Likewise, director Rohit Shetty is also continuing to do his part. The Singham director had recently donated 51 lakhs to FWICE to help the daily wage workers who have been affected by the lockdown.
On Tuesday, the Mumbai Police took to Twitter to share that the filmmaker has arranged facilities in eight hotels for on-duty cops. Their tweet read, “#RohitShetty has facilitated eight hotels across the city for our on-duty #CovidWarriors to rest, shower & change with arrangements for breakfast & dinner. We thank him for this kind gesture and for helping us in #TakingOnCorona and keeping Mumbai safe.”
Have a look at the tweet:
Before Rohit Shetty, his Simmba actor, Sonu Sood too had offered his hotel in the city for the doctors, nurses and the paramedical staff. Shahrukh Khan and Gauri Khan have also extended their support to help by offering their 4 storey personal office space for the ones in need. Recently, Ayesha Takia and restauranteur husband Farhan Azmi took to their Twitter to announce that they have now offered their hotel in South Mumbai as a quarantine facility to the BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation).
According to the Union Health Ministry, COVID-19 death toll has risen to 640 in the country as the number of cases rose to 19,984.
