This year is the 50th year of celebrating Earth Day! And the theme for this year is Climate Action. Which makes me think about the choices and decisions I make on an everyday basis that helps or affects the environment and climate. And if you too wish to be more conscious about the climate and the waste being produced by you or your family, then we have some suggestions. We put together a list of 5 eco-friendly products that can be used as an alternative to our everyday things. Scroll down to check them all out.
1. Organic Cotton Produce Bags
We cannot stress enough about this one. One of the easiest ways to reduce the use of single-use plastic bags is by carrying our own cotton produce bags. Plastic bags contribute to the pollution of our planet, and replacing them with eco-friendly bags could help make a huge difference to the health of the planet.
2. Reusable Straws
As per the National Park Service, 125 school buses can be filled with the straws used by Americans in a single day, which is approximately 500 million in all. Straws, as well as disposable utensils of any kind, harm the aqua life and the environment more than we can think of. Switching to steel straws saves your money and also looks hella aesthetic tbh! Help the environment while being stylish, noh?
3. Bamboo Toothbrush
As we all know, bamboos are fast-growing and are also bio-degradable. You won’t feel guilty while discarding them cause you can simply add them to your compost bin. Isn’t that such a cool alternative to our disposable plastic toothbrushes?
4. Bee’s Wax Food Wraps
Another easy way to reduce the usage of single-use plastics is by switching to bee’s wax food wraps from our usual plastic wraps. The eco-friendly bee’s wax food wraps work just as fine and also help the environment.
5. Recycled Toilet Tissues
You can find toilet paper made out of 100% recycled paper fibres, bamboo or even sugarcane. These toilet papers save trees, use less water and reduce carbon emissions. These alternatives are the easiest to switch to, because you don’t have to compromise in terms of quality or anything else.
