I’m definitely not a party girl so I stopped investing in those party dresses a long time ago. Although, I have kept a few of those classic pieces that I can pull out when I need to or when an occasion arises. All that being said I am dying to go grab a drink with my friends and tune into a normal frequency. My normal being putting on my black clothes, doing my hair and putting on some makeup. But that doesn’t that you guys don’t enjoy a party or two.
I’m sure everyone’s acutely aware of all the privilege we have and how much we miss the mundane things that we could afford for ourselves. I don’t think anyone’s going to ever take their lives for granted, well for a few months at the very least. I only kid. Anyway, rolling back to party dresses, I really do love them and I tend to enjoy them, even more, when they come in unique styles and patterns. Not just the same old run of the mill stuff, you know what I mean and if not then check out the rest of this blog.
Here’s a look at some fabulous party dresses to get you in the mood to groove:
1) Tamannaah Bhatia
This spaghetti strap floral appliqué dress is such a cute number. The colourful flowers and net detailing also make it the perfect dress to take you from day-to-night. Imagine if you were at drunch and then had to a party out and out in the night, wouldn’t you want to be caught in this dress?
2) Kriti Sanon
Kriti’s shiny ruffle, tiered mini dress looks stunning. The tube dress neckline with cold shoulder detailing and the belt that cinches in the waist, all make it an easy dress to want to reach out to in the closet. I also think a dress like this has great repeat value because of the navy blue colour.
3) Alia Bhatt
Love me an off-beat party look and Alia’s dress just hits all the right beats with me. The tartan print, the feather and sequin detailing on the sleeve along with a gold tassel hem work wonders. This sort of look also works well on all body types.
4) Pooja Hegde
Pooja’s white shirt dress would be such a hit for the summer, I would even wear this look, out at night just so I could stay cool all night long. The folded up sleeves, the knot front with oversized bow detailing all make it the party number it is. Pair with sneakers or heels for your comfort. Love the addition of gold layered necklaces.
5) Sara Ali Khan
Sara’s look is like an artist’s canvas. All the fun prints and colours work together so seamlessly to create the perfect party dress. The dress fits her form so well and accentuates all her curves beautifully. The cold-shouldered puff sleeves really add to the charm of this ensemble. Pair with colourful heels for sure.
6) Alaya F
If you want to go for a more classic look then a silver sequin dress is exactly what you need. The boat neck and long sleeves are not the most optimum for Indian climate but I’d still wear it if the fabric was light enough. This is the perfect look to pair with neon accents.
7) Janhvi Kapoor
Honestly, I can’t find a fault or flaw in Janhvi’s look. I love how rich and royal the purple is. The ruched detailing really highlight that waistline. The sweetheart neckline is an optimum neckline for layered necklaces, a clear favourite. Stacked bracelets and midi rings for the win. This dress also kind of reminds me of a sexy bridesmaids dress as well.
8) Ananya Panday
Ananya’s dress is sexy, feminine and cute all the same. What a killer combo to ace. The sequins and poppy motifs all amp up the cuteness value of this dress. The fuzzy-furry hem detail also adds a touch of glam to this look. I might have done gold layered necklaces on this neckline and kept my ears bare. But both ways work.
9) Karisma Kapoor
Karisma’s rainbow-coloured dress isn’t exactly what most of you would think is a party dress. But let’s be honest these days we spend our time at baby showers and soirées. And sometimes you just need a nice sharp looking midi-dress. This pleated asymmetric dress can be paired with chunky statement earrings or even a necklace. And dress it up with gold heels to pack in that extra punch.
10) Anushka Sharma
I think Anushka is probably one of the best-styled actresses of all time. Her style is clean and effortless including her hair and makeup. This textured pearl white mini with exaggerated puff sleeves would look so fantastic at a friends wedding. I’d pair this look with a nice pair of colourful heels for the summer. Love how she’s even accessorised this look.
11) Kangana Ranaut
Remember when bandage dresses were all the rage? I do and I think they still look fantastic when styled well. Kangana’s fresh take with a sweetheart neckline makes quite the splash. What I also like is the criss-cross buckle detailing along this two-tone dress. The gold is what makes this look pop.
