Co-ord Sets Prove To Be A Summer Fave Amongst Our B-town Babes

Nelly Wadia

Who doesn’t love the summer, amirite? What’s most enjoyable is the sunset and icecream palettes that everyone seems to adopt because it is so darn hot! The best way to look chic while beating the heat is by wearing matching sets. Well, I mean in addition to those cute summer dresses and shorts, of course. A lot of the times the fashion world as you would have it tends to reject matchy-matchy outfits and to be fair, I’m not the biggest fan either but there’s something so pleasant about co-ord sets that actually make them a running favourite with everyone.

Here’s a list of celebrities rocking a co-ord set:

1) The Skirt Co-ord Set

I love a nice airy and breezy skirt and they add a lovely feminine touch to one’s aesthetic. Scroll below to see how these celebs have paired their looks.

Deepika Padukone

Deepika wears the Gingham check or as I like to call em—the picnic table checks. The cute bow front detail and the bow details on the shoulder along with the peplum make it an incredibly cute look. The ruffled hem on this circular midi skirt is also adorable AF. Pair your look with nice chunky gold earrings like DP or dedicated laid necklaces.

Ananya Panday

Ananya does sporty girl like a pro. This look is my vibe, I’m always drawn to a nice mini skirt and jacket look. She pairs her look with white sneakers and a soft white jacket with animated motifs to break the print. Love the light green on her outfit, such a yummy pistachio colour.

Kubra Sait

Kubra’s co-ord set is the perfect look for a day on the beach. The floral print, the tie-front detail with bishop sleeve and a button-down skirt with pockets. Love her gold dangly earrings. If you were to wear this to the beach then defo pair with tan sandals and a nice straw bag.

Tara Sutaria

Nothing like a bright denim set, amirite? Tara wears and orange on orange denim look and breaks the brightness with a cutesy slogan crop top in black. She pulls her hair back into a nice messy pony which is perfect for a look like this. I would wear oversized gold hoops with this look.

2) The Pant Co-ord Set

Another fabulous way to wear this trend is by pairing your look with matching pants. They could be shorts or cropped capri pants even. Scroll below to see how a few celebs have paired this version.

Radhika Aapte

With this look, Radhika is nailing two birds with one stone that being; the bicycle short trend and the matching sets trend of course. Love a good pin-stripe and this red and white stripe reminds me of candy. She break her look with a deep V-neck bustier and layered gold chains.

Alaya F

Alaya’s is another look I’d totally want to wear to the beach. The palm/leafy green print works soo well against the beach backdrop. She wears a short balloon sleeve crop top with a tie-up front detail and pairs it with drawstring jogger pants. I’m just not a fan of the wedges and wish she had paired them with colourful tie-up heels instead.

Alia Bhatt

This is one of my favourite looks from Alia Bhatt. I discovered Peter Pilotto in 2012 when I was studying in London and haven’t stopped being obsessed with his clothes since then. The water-colour print makes her look like a yummy ice-cream sundae. Not forgetting to mention how well the colours merge with each other on this co-ord set. She wears a bishop sleeved, boxy shirt with palazzo pants. Love the nude strappy sandals with this look and the break of colour with the sky-blue handbag

Shraddha Kapoor

This co-ord set marks the genius pairing of horizontal stripes with vertical stripes. Shraddha’s spaghetti strap, knot-front bustier comes fitted with a half peplum. Her high-waisted trousers that end at her ankle, feature cute button detailing down the front. She pairs her look with transparent vinyl strap heels. And fringed hot pink earrings to break the colour. A nice high ponytail to accentuate those earrings works like a charm.

Which type of co-ord set are you most likely to try this summer? Let me know in the comments below.
