Holi signifies the triumph of good over evil; it also signifies the arrival of spring and the end of winter. This festival celebrates the beginning of a good harvest season. Whilst celebrating, we lovingly smear and drench each other with colours and water. Water-guns, pichkari’s and water-balloons are used to enhance gameplay. If you’re out of your house on this day, everyone is fair game including you. Holi is no wonder called the festival of colour and beloved by many in India.
Isha Ambani daughter of Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani hosted a star-studded, pre- Holi party with husband Anand Piramal on Friday night in Mumbai. Part of the celebrations was family, friends and some A-list celebrities. Here’s a list of the B-towners looks that we couldn’t get enough off.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas at The Ambani party: styled by Ami Patel
PCJ arrived twinning with husband Nick Jonas. She sported an outfit from Gulabo by Abu Sandeep. The cream kurta set featured colourful geometric details. She paired her ensemble with statement earrings from Tyaani by Karan Johar and a cocktail ring from Anmol along with a pair of bright poppy yellow, block heels. Her bright red lips were definitely the highlight of her look.
Katrina Kaif: styled by Ami Patel
Katrina Kaif arrived at the scene in a white lehenga from Anamika Khanna. The lehenga featured a white Ganji style blouse with a flouncy skirt that had Everything written on the waistband in caps. The dupatta was draped over her elbow and had embroidery matching to the embroidery on her blouse. She paired her look with chunky heels, silver jhumkis and a cuff from Curio Cottage & Silver Line and topped off the look with a tiny black bindi.
Jacqueline Fernandez at The Ambani party: styled by Chandini Whabi
Jacqueline Fernandez wore a red floral lehenga from Anamika Khanna. Her blouse featured a knotted front and bell sleeves and gave me all those retro feels. She paired her look with a cream potli bag from Aanchal Sayall. Uncut Polki earrings from Goenka India and silver jewellery from Razwada Jewels.
Diana Penty: styled by Namita Alexander
Diana Penty opted for a white saree with floral motifs from Vedika M who is well-known for her hand brush painting & abstract block prints. The saree featured tassel details on the pallu and an open tie-back saree blouse. She paired her saree with a sling bag and off-set her look with a round yellow bindi—quite the statement, methinks! Silver rings and earrings complete her look.
Huma Qureshi at The Ambani party: styled by Aastha Sharma
Huma Qureshi opted for an off-beat look. She styled a short kurta with cropped dhoti trousers from AM: PM by Ankur & Priyanka Modi. She paired her look with a silk stole and traditional red kolhapuri chappals. The monochromatic look was styled with earrings and silver bangles from Kohar Jewellery.
Honestly, on any given day I wouldn’t be wearing my designer wear to play Holi but if that’s how you roll then I’m excited for you. Who’s look do you plan to try this Holi? Let me know in the comments below.
