Freida Pinto rose to stardom with her 2008 hit movie Slumdog Millionaire. Since then, Freida’s been seen in several movies and TV shows. Freida Pinto was recently spotted on the red carpet at the premiere of Disney Junior‘s new animated series called Mira, Royal Detective in Los Angeles. The show is set to premiere in the United States on the 20th of March 2020. The cast also includes the likes of Kal Penn, Jameela Jamil and Karan Brar to name a few.
Freida mentions that “Being part of Mira, Royal Detective is one of my proudest achievements to date. I get to play Queen Shanti who appoints a kind, empathetic, intelligent and confident little girl named Mira to be the Royal detective to her kingdom. This show is groundbreaking on many levels—first of its kind ever in the animation world, an all-South Asian voiceover cast and the best part NO APU accents. Thank you very much”. And although Indian cinema acknowledges and credits Freida with breaking the stereotype of Indian women across international films, she hasn’t been seen often in Bollywood movies.
Freida Pinto in Anamika Khanna
Freida Pinto was styled by Tanya Ghavri in the inimitable Anamika Khanna. She wears a sunflower, yellow dress to the red carpet. The V-neck fitted top of the outfit is tailored with pintucks and goes into a heavily printed floral A-line skirt. The whole look is layered with an organza jacket with bishop sleeves and oversized lapels in opposing embroidery. She styled the look with gold hoops and several layered necklaces from a few of these designers—T+C Goutal, Nouvel Heritage, Dru Jewelry, Dylanlex Jewelry, BondEye Jewelry and Melinda Maria.
For Freida’s glam, Makeup artist Kirin Bhatty gave her a natural base with contoured cheeks, smokey brown eyeshadow and a poppy orange lip. Joseph Chase, her hairstylist gave her a beautiful side french braid with a few wispy loose strands of hair.
