Till now I thought that in the past year we’ve seen it all when it comes to nail art. From tortoiseshell to rainbow to butterfly nails, 2019 was a great year for beauty trends. Speaking of nail art trends, I think we’ve got another one on our hands—abstract nails. Recently my Instagram has been flooded with pictures of gorgeous abstract nail art. If you’re confused as to what abstract nails are, think of them as mini canvases with fluid colours paired with negative space. Sometimes I also get to see abstract traces of faces delicately drawn onto the nails. If you’re curious to know more about this nail art trend, here are some pictures that’ll inspire you to try out this fun trend:
1. Colourful Mayhem
If you’re like me and you can’t choose only one colour at the nail salon then you’ll love these abstract nails. If you’re planning to get this design then don’t play safe with the colours, choose fun colours and if you like edgy manicures then include negative spaces.
2. Pastel Swoops
Abstract art is all about having fun with colours and shapes. That’s exactly what this gorgeous pastel abstract nail art design is about. If you want to get a similar design to this, then use pastel colours and add a pop of glitter to your nails.
3. Vibrant Pairs
This is one of the edgiest manicures I’ve seen in a while. What makes it stand out is the contrast between the two colours. So, if you decide to go for this abstract manicure, then choose two colours with a stark contrast.
4. Patterns Galore
The best thing about abstract art is that you don’t have to conform to a particular shape or design. Each nail can look different than the other! So if that seems like something you like, then this abstract nail art design will be perfect for you. Go crazy with the different kinds of patterns.
5. A Little Bit Of Everything
If you want to include glitter, polka dots, negative space and colours all in one manicure then this design is what you should get. The individual elements may seem blah alone, but somehow they look great when they’re all paired together.
6. Abstract Faces
Your nail beds are like mini canvases and they deserve a masterpiece painted on them. That’s why this nail art design is one of my favourites.
7. Mid-Century Prints
Get inspired by the prints you see all around you and incorporate them into your manicure. For example, this abstract nail art was inspired by mid-century prints and it looks wonderful!
