Ask anyone from our parents’ generation, basically from the ’80s and ’90s, about what they would watch on television during their days and you are bound to get one answer for sure. That is Ramanand Sagar‘s Ramayan. It was one show that everyone waited for each week, and wouldn’t miss! Now, with some tough times ahead of us following a complete lockdown due to the COVID-19 virus, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar has announced that they are going to have a re-run of the crowd favourite show to lift up spirits everywhere!
The minister took to Twitter to announce the news and said that on public demand, they are all set to retelecast the show starting tomorrow, 28th March 2020 on DD National. They will have one episode in the morning from 9 a.m to 10 a.m and another in the evening from 9 p.m to 10 p.m.
Here is his tweet:
For the people from that generation when it first came out, it sure is some good news to be able to relive those simpler times.
Recently, the actors of the show were also in the news after their appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show. Arun Govil, Deepika Chikhalia and Sunil Lahri became household names as Ram, Sita and Laxman at that time, and everyone was thrilled to see them again. Now, it will be nice to see them back on our screens in the Ramayan.
