Amid the Coronavirus outbreak, Starbucks has come up with a sweet gesture to thank the people who’re working every day to help communities around the world stay safe. They’ll be offering free coffee to all the front-line responders that are on duty every day while the rest of us can stay inside our homes. Through 3rd May, any customer who identifies themselves as a front-line worker or first responder in the healthcare system can get a tall hot or cold brewed coffee for free at the coffee chain. This will include firefighters, police officers, nurses, paramedics, doctors, medical and hospital staff and medical researchers.
Kyle Hansen, a Starbucks manager in Issaquah, Washington has been doing the good deed of delivering coffee to such local first responders there. He said,
We decided to bring a little something to people serving our community—people who are experiencing even more uncertainty and unease than we are right now. We may have to get creative, but there’s always something small we can do to make a difference—to uplift the days of people who are going through a really hard time.
Starbucks also said that they will continue to pay all their store partners for the next one month, irrespective of whether they will be physically going to work or not. Also, in the United States, the Starbucks Foundation pledged to donate $500,000 to front-line responders.
We totally stan Starbucks for such a great move from their end to thank those who are fighting the battle outside so we can stay safe inside.
