Now, Shahid Kapoor has come out and announced that the shoot of his upcoming film, Jersey, has been halted owing to the safety of everyone on set. Shahid took to his Twitter to pen a note about how it is important to curb the spread of the virus. So, they have decided to stall the shoot and make sure all the unit members are safe at home with their families until things settle down.
Here is his tweet:
At a time like this it is our social responsibility to do everything in our capacity to curb the spread of this virus. Team #Jersey is suspending shoot so as to enable all unit members to be with their families and in the safety of their homes. Be responsible. Stay safe.❤️🙏

Jersey is the Hindi remake of a Telegu film of the same name. The original starred Nani and Shraddha Srinath in the lead roles and was directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri. Gowtham is all set to helm the Hindi project as well, which will star Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur alongside Shahid. Jersey follows the story of a thirty-six year old cricketer who aims to make a comeback into the game and play for his country, and his son.
We are glad Shahid and the team have taken the much needed precautions in such times and cannot wait to see him in this film!
