We often peg star kids having their lives easy. To an extent it is true. They are privileged and lucky to be born who they are born to. It’s not very often that we get to hear the other side of the story. Sonakshi Sinha while on Kareena Kapoor Khan‘s show What Women Want, revealed that she had to work hard to break free and be independent. Narrating an incident from her childhood she explained how she slowly started becoming independent from her parents. She retold an incident when she was accompanied by bodyguards to school when her father Shatrughan Sinha had just become a minister and how she went home and told her mother she won’t go to school if this was going to keep happening. She also said that when it was time for her to go to college she made sure she chose the college farthest away from home so she could experience everything like a normal person.

During the course of her interview, she also revealed that coming from such a privileged background, she always had staff around her and it was only after three to four years into her acting career that she took a flight alone. She admitted that while it may sound very trivial to other people, it felt amazing to her and now she tries to take flights alone from time to time.

We love Sonakshi for showing us the other side of the star kids that nobody has ever talked about. She’s a force to reckon with on-screen and she keeps it light, breezy yet honest when it comes to off-screen interviews. Sonakshi was last seen alongside Salman Khan in Dabangg 3. She is currently rumoured to be filming Bhuj: The Pride Of India that is a war action-drama set during the Indo-Pak war of 1971.
