As a hardcore Harry Potter fan, any time J.K. Rowling hints at adding another piece to her Wizarding world, I get overjoyed and I’m sure I can’t be the only one. You will be just as excited to find out that one of the most famous children’s books from the Wizarding world is being turned into an audio production. Yup! That’s right. Remember The Tales Of Beedle The Bard, the muggle equivalent of Aesop‘s fable, is being made into an audiobook. What’s more? A few actors from the Harry Potter film series will be reading out individual stories in one unforgettable audio entertainment experience.
For those unaware, The Tales Of Beedle The Bard plays a very crucial role in the 7th and last book of the Harry Potter series – Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows. This funny and entertaining collection of stories will also be accompanied by explanatory notes from Professor Albus Dumbledore. His notes reveal the stories to be much more than the simple moral tales that they seem to be.
The listeners will get to hear:
- Jude Law (Albus Dumbledore in the Fantastic Beasts film series) reading Albus Dumbledore’s notes
- Warwick Davis (Professor Filius Flitwick in the Harry Potter film series) reading The Wizard and the Hopping Pot
- Noma Dumezweni (Hermione Granger in the original West End and Broadway runs of Harry Potter And The Cursed Child) reading The Tale of the Three Brothers
- Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter film series) reading The Warlock’s Hairy Heart
- Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter film series) reading The Fountain of Fair Fortune
- Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter film series) reading Babbitty Rabbitty and her Cackling Stump
- Sally Mortemore (Madame Pince in the Harry Potter film series) reading J.K. Rowling’s introduction
I’m beyond excited for this and it’s just another glimpse we will be getting into Dumbledore‘s character as well as the Wizarding history. The audiobook will be available on audible starting from 31st March 2020. The audiobook will also be free for audible members this year.
The original book was handwritten and illustrated by J.K. Rowling as a limited edition of only 7 copies. One of them was sold at an auction in 2007 to raise money for charity. It was then published in 2008 and sold to raise money for Rowling’s children’s charity Lumos.
