I think we can all accept the fact that every time Lakme Fashion Week takes place, we get to see some of the best fashion and beauty trends out there. Even though LFW SR’20 is over, we still can’t stop thinking about the dreamy makeup looks we spotted. From dewy and glossy skin to groovy two-toned graphic eyeliner, get prepared to see some of the major beauty trends we saw at fashion week.
1. Bold Eyeshadow
Gone are the days of muted taupes and browns, it’s all about highlighting your eyes with bright colours now. While we were backstage, we got to check out MUAs work their magic on the models, and one common denominator between all the makeup looks was bold eyeshadow. From shimmery metallics to peachy hues, we spotted quite a few bold eyeshadow colours. This gorgeous beauty trend is not only fierce, but it’s also super wearable off-ramp.
2. Graphic Eyeliner
It was refreshing to see graphic eyeliner for a change. One of our favourite graphic eyeliner looks is this minimalistic one from the Ashdeen House of Three X Tantajo show at Lakme Fashion Week SR’20. Even though it edgy and out of the box, you can easily pull off this look because it is very wearable. We also loved the two-toned graphic eyeliner from the Prachit Shinde show, and we can’t wait to try out this groovy beauty trend.
3. Glossy Skin
This beauty trend is one we can all get behind—who doesn’t love dewy skin, amirite? We spotted quite a few makeup looks that focused on the texture and luminosity of the skin. If you want to try out this beauty trend, try using a liquid highlighter and cream blush, this will help your skin look dewy and glossy.
4. Textured Waves
Voluminous beachy waves are back, and we’re over the moon about it. For a while, everyone was all about poker-straight hair; however, now we’re spotting a lot of people styling their hair wavy. Tara Sutaria and Alaya F looked stunning with their beachy waves when they closed the show for Punit Balana and SVA respectively.
5. Classic Red Lip
We’re glad to see that a bold red lip will never go out of style. IMHO, you can instantly make your makeup look chic and polished by adding some red lipstick to your pout. This beauty trend will always be one of our favourites.
6. Bedazzled Makeup
In the previous year, bedazzled pearl nails and hair accessories were all the rage. This year it’s going to be all about bedazzled makeup! We spotted some fabulous bedazzled makeup looks backstage and TBH we’re still in awe.
