As fans worldwide are still struggling to cope with the loss of basketball legend Kobe Bryant, more details about why Kobe chose to travel by helicopters in the first place has emerged. Since then it’s been revealed that Kobe and Vanessa Bryant tried to avoid taking helicopter rides together in case something untoward happens.
The NBA star, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna Bryant and seven others lost their lives in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California on 26th January 2019.
A source informed Entertainment Tonight that while Kobe and his daughter Gigi used to take a helicopter to her basketball games frequently, Vanessa and the rest of the daughters used to stay back. The couple avoided taking helicopter rides together in fear of what could happen if something went wrong.
This was not a hard and fast rule but simply tried to avoid it when they could and mostly due to the different schedules of all their kids.
Kobe first started using a helicopter to beat the LA traffic and to get back and forth from his games in order to spend more time with his family.
Vanessa released an official statement yesterday about how she and her girls were in pain but thanked the millions of people who are keeping them in their prayers.

Our love and prayers are with the Bryant family.
