Ananya Panday has had a successful 2019. The actress made her debut with Student Of The year 2 and later in the year floored us with her performance in Pati, Patni Aur Woh. While she has so much to be thankful for, in 2019, she has a great 2020 already. She will be starring opposite Ishaan Khatter in Khaaali Peeli. Talking about it, Ananya exclusively told us that it is a completely original film and not a remake.
Ananya said,
Kaali Peeli is an completely original film and I am really excited about that. I have done a sequel and a remake and now this is completely different. The film has a bit of everything right from romance to a thriller. The character I essay in the film is so different from the person I am. I don’t live that life, behave like that or even dress up like that. For an actor, it is the most liberating thing to play a character who’s nothing like you.
She also added that horror is a genre she would love to do.
I really want to something dark. I don’t think people would be expecting that from me. Something like Ghost Stories. It looks amazing. I want to surprise people.
She also revealed that for her the best performance of the year came from the entire star cast of Gully Boy.
For me, the best performance of the year came from the entire star cast of Gully Boy. Every single actor Ranveer, Alia, Siddhant, Vijay, everyone was just perfect. I want to be in a passing shot in that film. I love Zoya (Akhtar), she’s my favourite director.
When questioned whether there was a negative character she loved this year, she instantly answered saying,
My dad in Saaho. People haven’t seen him enough in that light and that was brilliant.
Apart from being an actress, Ananya is also on the forefront to promote positivity on social media. Talking about that, the actress said:
I think it was actually not one specific moment I realized that I needed to start this. People are really mean on social media and I was seeing it happening for a really long time and I didn’t know what to do about it. I was like if people are seeing this happen, then why is no one doing anything about it. Then I thought, what I can I do to stop it. I can’t physically go and stop someone from typing something on their phone. How many people can I stop? I realized after I spoke to my parents and my team that even just talking about it and spreading awareness and getting the conversation started was enough. My main goal was to just stop one person from saying something hateful. I can’t quantify how many people have stopped, but I’m glad that I have managed to stop at least one person and I think that’s a goal I have achieved for myself. I feel like positivity and kindness is something you have to start from within. It’s a thing everyone needs to take up on them and make an effort. Technically, it shouldn’t need an effort to be kind, it’s the most basic thing. It’s cool to be kind and I hope people realize that.
We are looking forward to what the actress has to offer this year.
