Siddhant Chaturvedi is one of the best finds of 2019. The actor has proved his mettle on the 70 mm and the nation can’t stop going gaga over him. His social media is a witness of all the love that comes his way and Siddant is only modest about it. In an exclusive conversation, the actor spoke about his next — Bunty Aur Babli 2 and the fame that came with the Zoya Akhtar directorial, Gully Boy.
Siddhant is glad that 2019 has been more than kind to him. While the year began with his debut film hitting the screens, he currently has two big banner films in his kitty.
Ask him whether he imagined that his year would end on high spirits, and he quips,
Honestly, I didn’t think 2019 would be so great. I thought it is going to be better than 2018 and years before that because my first film is going to be out and I will get some work and recognition. I thought probably after this film, I’ll get an Excel film as a lead but I get a YRF film. I am like, okay, calm down. I get a Bunty Aur Babli 2, I’m still saying okay to myself. Then I get a Dharma film which stars Deepika Padukone in it and I’m like bro… after this, probably I’ll get to the Oscars!
Speaking about the film that got him so much love, he revealed that he hasn’t seen the film completely.
I haven’t watched Gully Boy. I just watched it in the theatres one time and while watching it, half of the time, I was watching my dad because he was crying. My mom was there too and my 14-year-old brother who suddenly thought that I am the coolest person ever. I have just watched half of the film, I haven’t seen it completely.
Question him why, and he immediately says,
The reason is you cannot watch the best films is because you’re going to do the best films.
He also added that in his life, his dad is MC Sher.
Jitna bhi maine dekha hai, I really related to Murad. In real life, I was Murad and my dad was the mentor to me. Ranveer was the mentor to me on the sets. When The Train Song was playing in the end I was crying because what was happening in the film, similar was happening in my life. Mohalle mein sab aunties’ naach rahi thi when I became a star. My life has been like Murad and MC Sher was my dad.
He also spoke about all the love he gets from female fans!
Jab sabse jyaada jarurat thi, school and college mein, toh mila nahin. Abhi kaam mila hai toh focus kar raha hoon. Abhi sirf focus. In my head I’m like pehle kyun nahin aayi! That’s my attitude right now. I have blinders on and I want to focus on my work. All the love I have been getting from females, males, bachche, buddhe, I see it as one, bohot achcha lagta hai.
We cannot wait to witness this talent house on-screen again!
