Surprisingly enough memes have taken over most people’s Instagram feeds. Either you’re following them, getting them DM’d to you via your bestie or see them added to a friend’s story. Memes, memes, memes—who’d have thought that in 2019 a square image with a white background that had a line or two of text, could have so much meaning to our lives? Off late, memes also have many template updates—like for instance, the Kylie Jenner “rise and shine” song she sang to her 2-year-old daughter… Boom, it’s a meme song now! A picture of a judgemental cat sitting on a couch … Boom another one that’s gone viral.
Clearly it doesn’t take a lot to get us vested or interested in memes these days. Although meme accounts are dime a dozen, there’s still some kind of relatability that grips us and has us hooked.
