Remakes — when it comes to movies or songs — is always something that we tend to take with a pinch of salt. Most times, it is a letdown because of how much we adore the OG versions we grew up on! Guess director/choreographer Farah Khan was also of a similar opinion and said that she used to previously look down upon remakes.
A few months ago, we told you about how Farah is all set to team up with director Rohit Shetty or the remake of the Amitabh Bachchan-Hema Malini starrer, Satte Pe Satta. Wonder what changed then? Farah, who was part of a panel organised by Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films in Delhi/NCR, says that motherhood is what brought about this change in her outlook.
She explained, saying:
At one point in time, I used to look down upon remakes and ask ‘why is he doing this?’ But now I think it is worldwide (remakes are made worldwide). I realised that after having children… My kids haven’t watched the movies that I loved in my childhood or when I was growing up. They are not going to watch them now because the movies are dated, so why not give a fresh spin if the story is interesting or something… You can modernise it and make it for today’s audiences.
The Satte Pe Satta remake has been in the news for speculations about its star cast. Addressing all rumours surrounding it, Farah reportedly told IANS:
They (people) have made their own story, decided whom we are making the film with, and also who has left the movie. Till we announce what we are making, what’s the title, who all are in the movie, everything else is just rumour and speculation which we don’t even want to refute because there is no point.
Well, we sure are super excited for Farah and Rohit to join hands for this film and bring in double the fun! And as for the star cast, we’ll have to wait and watch.
