Ranveer Singh‘s ’83, the biopic on former Indian cricket captain, Kapil Dev has been in the news for a long time now. Right from Ranveer taking cricketing lessons from Kapil, to Deepika joining the team, it has been one exciting news after the other for us. The internet exploded yesterday with Ranveer’s first look as Kapil Dev, nailing the Natraja shot.
Honestly, I was in awe of how Ranveer looked so much like Mr Dev. Right from the hair, to the face structure to the iconic shot, it all looks perfect. Even Kapil Dev couldn’t help but comment, “Hats off Ranveer“! He shared the picture and applauded Ranveer for his efforts.

A meme on the internet actually says, “It is amazing how Ranveer looks more like Kapil Dev than Kapil Dev himself.“! We kinda, sorta have to agree.
Ranveer shared pictures a few months ago of him spending quality time with the iconic cricketer and learning more about him. From net practices with him to long discussions, it seemed like they had a wonderful time. What a privilege to be in such great company, no?

Another fav moment was when Deepika Padukone joined the team and was roped in to play Romi Dev, Kapil Dev’s wife, on screen. Seeing the couple come together on screen is going to be really exciting, and for once, they won’t be parting ways in the film and that is such a relief, ain’t it?
Directed by Kabir Khan, the film is all set to release on 10th April 2020.
