We got to trust Shah Rukh Khan to be so effortlessly blunt and honest at times, and having some of the wittiest comebacks ever. Recently, he was at the inauguration of of the Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF). While there, he spoke about celebrating the diversity of our country in our films, the heritage of Bengali cinema among other things.
While it all went on well and he discussed some pretty solid stuff, the crowd listening to him wanted only one thing. That was to hear him say a dialogue from one of his films in his own charming style! And SRK didn’t give it to them without commenting in jest about how nobody takes serious speeches from movie stars seriously.
According to an IANS report, he said:
I know, I know, I know nobody takes serious speeches of movie stars seriously. At the end of all, i am just a good looking face. Ya, that’s it. My presence here becomes useless if I don”t say some dialogue.
He then went on to deliver his famous dialogue from the film Raees, tweaking it for the Film festival. he said: “Ammijan kehti thi, ki koi film festival chota ya bada nehi hota. Lekin KIFF se sundar koi bhi dusra festival nahin hota (My mother used to say, no film festival is small or big. But no other festival can be more beautiful than KIFF)”
The audience, of course, were all hearts for this dialogue and cheered him on!
