We always look forward to Sanjay Leela Bhansali movies. The sets, the grandeur, the actors, the music, everything is perfect when it comes to the magnum- opus director. So whenever he announces a movie, Indian audiences rejoice because we know we’re in for a treat. Earlier this month, Sanjay announced his next project Gangubai Kathiwadi starring Alia Bhatt, not much later, he announced another film that he will be making called Baiju Bawra. The director also disclosed that it is a revenge story of a maverick maestro. Now there’s buzz across the internet that his lucky charm Ranveer Singh will be essaying the lead role in the said film. Going by the list of successful films the actor-director duo has delivered in collaboration, this is not surprising. They’ve previously worked together on Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani, and Padmaavat. All of them were tremendous successes at the box office.
Just as fans were coming to terms with this information, there’s a new rumour that has been floating around. According to a report in Telly Chakkar, Priyanka Chopra Jonas might be paired opposite RS for this film. Last year on Koffee With Karan, she had revealed that she was in talks with many directors in Bollywood and SLB was one of them. Is this the project that they were in talks for? Again, there is no confirmation if Priyanka has bagged the role yet. But we would love to see her and RS together again. This will be the fourth time they will be seen sharing screen after Gunday, Dil Dhadakne Do and Bajirao Mastani.
We’re keeping our fingers crossed in the hope that this is true. PeeCee in an SLB movie along with Ranveer is going to be one helluva watch. Can we make this happen, Universe? Let’s hope so.
