Kareena Kapoor Khan has been in the film industry for almost 20 years. But we just found out that actress has never auditioned for a single role, not even for her first movie, Refugee. The actress recently revealed while talking to Rajeev Masand that Aamir Khan‘s Laal Singh Chaddha was the first time she’s been asked to audition for a role. She said that she thinks Aamir wanted to absolutely sure before casting her in the role.
Talking in detail about this, she said:
Because knowing the way that he is, I think he wanted to be like 100% sure. So very randomly, out of the blue, I got a call from Aamir. ‘I want you to hear this film, this and that and I am very excited about it.’ So it just happened very organically. I heard the script like just then the minute he called me and he was just like let’s read some scenes. I want you to read some scenes. So I was like yeah, I have never done something like this. I thought like what the hell. I want to see myself if I want to do this or not and you know there is nothing wrong in that.
She said that she didn’t mind auditioning for the role at all and also added that if she didn’t evolve with the time and behaved like a diva it would be wrong. Even her husband Saif Ali Khan told her that even an Al Pacino would test for a part.
We can’t wait to see Bebo paired opposite Aamir again after 3 Idiots. Laal Singh Chaddha is a remake of the 1994 Hollywood movie Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks. The Hindi remake is slated for release next year in 2020. Marking our calendars for the date of release!
