Alia Bhatt has, in her few years in the industry, only risen from strength to strength with each film and has proven what a star she is. Now, every time she is done with one film, we are always waiting for her to announce her next. While we sure were super excited to see her star in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film, Inshallah, with Salman Khan, it was unfortunate that the film had to be shelved.
But, now we just got some really great news! While her film with Salman isn’t happening, her association with Sanjay is definitely happening. Film analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the news on his Twitter and wrote: “Sanjay Leela Bhansali announces his new film #GangubaiKathiawadi… Stars Alia Bhatt in title role… Also, release date finalized: 11 Sept 2020… Bhansali Productions collaborates with Jayantilal Gada’s PEN India Ltd for this film.”

The film, Gangubai Kathiawadi, is a story that is based on a well-known prostitute called Gangubai. Alia also took to her Twitter to announce the film saying we have heard of this person called Gangubai, but we haven’t heard her compelling story.
