Ask any girl and she’ll agree with the fact that wearing the right shade of lipstick makes her feel more confident. There’s just something about wearing your favourite lipstick that makes you feel like you can star in a sultry Beyonce music video. That’s why girls are so particular about choosing the correct lipstick. If you’re wondering what lipstick you should wear on your next date night, then you’re in the right place. I asked a few of my colleagues what their go-to lipstick is and here’s what they had to say:
1. Nishita Rohera
Her Pick: M.A.C Matte Lipstick – Russian Red
Why She Loves It: It’s the perfect red lipstick that you need for a date night or a night out with your girls! It’s super matte but feels really soft on your lips and it doesn’t dry out your lips. Plus my boyfriend loves it when I rock a red lip and isn’t it that kind of the point?
2. Dhruvi Modi
Her Pick: Glossier Generation G Jam
Why She Loves It: My go-to date night lipstick is the Glossier lipstick called Generation G in the shade Jam. I saw Dakota Johnson wear this shade in Fifty Shades Darker and was adamant to get this for myself as well. This best part about it is that the colour is buildable so if I want a dark shade then I put on a few layers, but if I want a soft pop of colour I just dab it over my lips! Super easy and very long-lasting as well.
3. Natasha Patel
Her Pick: M.A.C Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour – So Me
Why She Loves It: This is one of my favourite lipsticks because the shade is the perfect combination of nude and pink hues. What makes it even better is that the colour stays on for a long time!
4. Pooja Maheshwary
Her Pick: Maybelline New York Color Show Lipstick Caramel Custard
Why She Loves It: I’m a big fan of breakfast dates. Sadly, I tend to eat my lipstick too while eating. So, on dates when I know there’s food involved, I stay away from darker shades and go for my trusted favourite—caramel custard by Maybelline. It goes well with my skin tone and is perfect for when I need something more than a nude shade. A few dabs of it, adds a nice tint to the lips and is also great for when I want to play up the eyes and keep the rest of my look neutral.
5. Snehal Fernandes
Her Pick: NudeStix Intense Matte Lip + Cheek Pencil
Why She Loves It: This is the perfect matte lipstick because it is extremely pigmented and it doesn’t make your lips feel like sandpaper. I especially love this shade because it’s a great alternative to a bold red lip.
