Deepika Padukone recently wrapped up shooting for her fourth movie alongside her hubby and superstar Ranveer Singh. Thanks to social media we happened to see how happening the wrap-up party of ’83 was. The party was hosted by DP. While we’re eagerly waiting to see her on the big screen, we might not get to see her do so in what’s remaining of the year. Her next film Chhapaak is slated for release on the 10th of January 2020. 2019 was DP’s break year from the movies when she took it easy after her elaborate wedding back in 2018. Now, in an extensive interview with Harper’s Bazaar US, she opened up about why she and Ranveer never opted for a live-in relationship before they got married and how they envision to raise their kids. She said that there was a lot of temptation to move in with each other especially because they travelled a lot due to work. She added that Ranveer always said, “Whatever makes you happy makes me happy.”
She also revealed that:
But for me, it’s about wanting to do everything at the right time. It’s how I saw my parents do it, so I didn’t know any other way.
Talking about why they never lived with each other before their wedding, she said:
If we had started living together earlier, then what would we be discovering later on? That’s what this year has been—living together and discovering each other. I like to say we made the best decision of our lives. I know people are cynical about marriage, but that hasn’t been our experience. We believe in the institution, and we’re enjoying every bit of it.
She also talked about how being children to parents who used to travel extensively, she wanted to take a leaf out of her parents’ book. During this particular Harper’s Bazaar interview, she was shooting for ’83 in London.
Athletes are constantly traveling, and when you see their success, not often do you also see the kinds of sacrifices their family makes. But I’ve seen it so closely, and that’s what drew me to this movie and to this part,my sister and I had two working parents who were still able to give every aspect of their lives, time, and dignity, whether it’s work or being home with us. I really hope that when Ranveer and I start a family, we’re able to do it the way I experienced it as a child with my parents. Just rooted, and wholesome, and secure.
We absolutely love #DeepVeer and how adorable they are with each other. We’re sure they’ll make great parents when they become parents.
