The much-awaited reality show of the season — Bigg Boss season 13 — kickstarted this Sunday, with the house opening its door to 13 celebrity contestants. This flagged off the new ‘express’ season of the show that is set to be completed in just 4 weeks. The tasks for the contestants started even before they set foot inside the house, where host Salman Khan subjected them to go about assigning beds and distributing household chores amongst themselves.
The ‘Best Friends Forever’ task was one task that took everyone by surprise, wherein the contestants were randomly paired up to share beds inside the house. A few members immediately embraced the task and their partners, while the others weren’t really pally with the idea. Koena Mitra and Shefali Bagga were the few who went well with it, while Rashami Desai and Sidharth Shukla weren’t really okay with it at first. Later they were told that they couldn’t go against the Bigg Boss‘s rules in the house. So they didn’t really have a choice.
Another twist that came about in this season of the show is the introduction of the Malkin of the house, Ameesha Patel. She entered, grooving to her popular number Kaho Na Pyaar Hai, and announced that every week one female contestant will be chosen as the ‘Queen of the Bathroom’ and will be bestowed with certain privileges. In one of the first tasks in the Bigg Boss house, Ameesha announces that the contestants will have to earn their food the hard way and makes the contestants play the game of passing the parcel, where the contestants are made to pick up and pass on the food items, but using their mouth.
As the day comes to an end, Malkin Ameesha Patel, came back with a second task called ‘Malkin Chahti Hai’. The girls of the house are asked to choose two boys for a series of games. Depending on the performance and results of the task, Ameesha gives black hearts to the boys.
On the very first day, housemates have begun to understand each others’ strengths and weakness with the unique tasks they’ve been put through. We look forward to seeing how these tasks shape the bonds between the contestants.
