Isn’t it always so sad when your favourite stars – be it in cinema, music or sports even – decide to take a break from their work or permanently retire? We just heard news about singer Ed Sheeran taking a long break from music. Now, seems like the next person to join the list is rapper Nicki Minaj. The Anaconda singer took to Twitter to tell her fans she was planning to retire.
Nicki’s tweet seems to have come out of nowhere and shocked her fans, who couldn’t understand her sudden decision. She wrote, “I have decided to retire and have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin’ me, do it til da death of me, in the box – cuz aint nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE.” But the singer soon deleted the tweet and replied to her fans who were hurt by her decision. She said the tweet was “abrupt and insensitive” and apologised for it.

The 36-year-old rapper is dating a man called Kenneth Petty and has hinted at getting married to him very soon. She was also in the spotlight around last year for her public altercation with fellow rapper Cardi B during the New York Fashion Week where Cardi tried attacking Nicki and it got ugly!
While Nicki didn’t take back the “retiring” statement, reports suggest that she has been working on quite a few projects right now. So we just have to wait and watch to see where this leads.
