Taapsee Pannu broke into the Hindi film industry scene with Chashme Baddoor, after being a part of several Tamil and Telugu movies. Her Bollywood debut unfortunately didn’t do very well at the Box Office but her succeeding roles proved her acting capabilities and her strengths as an actor.
Give Pannu any role and she is sure to master the character – Baby, Pink, Naam Shabhana, Soorma, Badla and more recently, Mission Mangal and Game Over. No wonder then that Taapsee is winning hearts all over and we can’t wait to know what she has in store for us next.
However, stardom is always followed by the glaring media eyes, paparazzi and almost no privacy. Taapsee, and her family, is still coming to terms with this new reality. She loves that her fans adore her but it often gets uncomfortable for her fiends and family. In an interview with Hindustan Times, she said:
I can’t walk on the roads or visit cafes with my friends that I used to go to.
The same goes for other activities such as shopping, about which the actress said:
I would love to walk into the mall and shop, but it doesn’t happen anymore. That’s why I shop outside the country from high street brands. It’s not like I go there to shop for a certain brand but the fact that I can’t walk into a mall and try on clothes here, I do it outside the country.
She further said that she belongs to a rather humble background and is the first person in her family to achieve the celebrity status. Therefore, they are still understanding the process of dealing with her stardom.
On the work front, Taapsee will be seen next in Saand Ki Aankh, Tadka and Thappad.
