Since then, he has become internet’s heartthrob. And it was with a broken heart that we received the news that the actor was in a relationship with someone. Earlier this year, it was clear that Vicky was in a relationship with Harleen Sethi. While none of them confirmed or denied it at the time, it was clear enough from their social media behaviour. But a few months earlier, news of their break up had started circulating because Harleen had unfollowed Vicky on Instagram. The reason was touted to be the closeness between Vicky and Katrina Kaif. While that might be untrue, Vicky remained tight lipped about the whole thing. Earlier this month, during the HT summit and he was asked about his relationship status and he had jokingly said that he was ekdum single. But nothing like a formal interview to confirm the news once and for all. In a recent interview with Mid-Day, he finally admitted that he was single.
Is it really too evil of us to celebrate his singledom?
Talking about his hearthrob status he said that it took him by surprise.
The heartthrob element also takes me by surprise a bit. I think it is a very pleasant feeling. It’s got a lot to do with the characters I’ve played, and that they’ve resonated. It’s not like I’m the handsomest man ever. There are much sexier men, with better physique and charisma. The difference is that my work has resonated with the audience, so there’s relatability with this guy, on screen — that’s the edge. Tomorrow there’ll be another one, whose works will resonate, and he’ll become the heartthrob. I’m not the first or last such. It is part and parcel.
