Body shaming is possibly one of the most serious forms of bullying, humiliation and harassment. Most of us have been a a victim of it at some point or the other and the trauma is often difficult to shake off for the rest of our lives.
A lot of Bollywood celebrities have also come out to speak against body shaming and its il–effects on one’s mental health. Recently, Zareen Khan was subjected to trolling when she posted a picture in which the stretch marks on her stomach were visible.
Stretch marks… normal, right?! Turns out, not so much for a lot of people out there who prefer bodies airbrushed and photoshopped to perfection. Zareen responded to the haters by saying:
For people who are very curious to know about what’s wrong with my stomach, this is the natural stomach of a person, who has lost 15 kgs of weight, this is how it looks when it is not photoshopped or surgically corrected.
Anushka Sharma also stood up for the Hate Story 3 actress by posting the following message on her Instagram story:
Zareen, you’re beautiful, brave and strong just the way you are. #AppreciationPost #LookBeyondTheBody.
Yasss! There are so many things to learn and be proud of here. Women supporting each other and standing up against body shaming trolls. There still exists some good in the world, right?!
