Even before she made her Bollywood debut, Sara Ali Khan impressed everyone with her Koffee with Karan debut and the paparazzi photos/videos. She won over the audience and critics with her performances in Kedarnath and Simmba (both released in 2018). Belonging to a film family, acting definitely runs in her blood, and the actress shares the reason why she chose to become an actor.
Sara Ali Khan said:
The reason for which I have chosen to become an actor is the fact that I aspire for versatility in the genres of films that I do, and in the kind of roles that I portray. I don’t think that you can necessarily have a lot of screen time in every single film that you are a part of. I think sometimes you do films because there are certain directors that you want to work with or there is a certain genre that you want to be a part of. And of course, in time, role and importance to the narrative are things that actors do consider, and things that I consider as well.
Sara was very keen on working with Rohit Shetty and she was lucky enough to get the opportunity in her second Bollywood film, Simmba. The actress shared the reason for doing Simmba and said that she wanted to be a part of it.
She said:
I am huge fan of the genre of work that Rohit sir does and I think that it was a different opportunity for me than Kedarnath. Going forward, I think that while one does aspire for author back roles and great characters to portray, somewhere down the line, the movie business is a collaborative one. And sometimes there are films and stories that you want to be a part of even if you don’t have a lot of screen time so that’s why I decided to be part of Simmba and Rohit sir was nice enough to cast me for it.
Sara will next be seen in Imtiaz Ali’s next alongside Kartik Aaryan. The film is a sequel to the 2009 release Love Aaj Kal. Besides this, she will also be seen in Coolie No. 1. which also stars Varun Dhawan. Both her films are slated to be released next year.
