Superstar Amitabh Bachchan is a UN ambassador for the girl child and has often endorsed the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Campaign. But what’s amazing is that he has proved time and again that he’s someone who believes in the message he promotes. He has been a cheerleader of the women around him especially his daughter and his granddaughters. One look at his Instagram should confirm the same.
Recently on an episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati, the actor revealed that after his death, his wealth will be divided equally between both his children – Shweta Bachchan Nanda and Abhishek Bachchan.
He had said this once before, making this clear by posting this on Twitter as well.
Take a look:
Till today, many places and communities in our country only leave their inheritance to their male child in the belief that girl children become a part of another home once they are married off.
While it is 2019, having a girl child is still frowned upon in many parts of India. So, for someone like Mr. Bachchan to reiterate his message of gender equality is a huge deal.
We’re happy that he’s leading by example to many who look up to him.
