Three days out of five are already over at Lakme Fashion Week. While day 1 opened with major Bollywood A-listers and day 2 saw sustainable fashion at its peak, I wasn’t expecting too many stars to be a part of the third day of the show. However, to my surprise, day 3 eclipsed the first two with the Bollywood divas in beautiful handcrafted collections—talk about two-in-one. Before we get to the fashion, here are all the gorgeous showstoppers who walked the ramp on the third day of LFW:
Pooja Hegde for Jayanti Reddy
About The Collection
Plunge neck blouses, scalloped finishes, exquisite detailing in embroidery and Benrasi woven fabrics in beige and purple dominated the designer’s collection. Pooja Hegde looked stunning as the showstopper for this rich collection.
Diana Penty For Ridhi Mehra
About The Collection
Peplum blouses and tasselled sleeves, Kashmiri work, concept saris and anarkalis in ivories and reds were the key takeaways from Ridhi Mehra’s bridal range. The breathtaking Diana Penty closed the show in a spectacular lehenga-choli with intricate detailing.
Tara Sutaria For Label Ritu Kumar
About The Collection
Equestrian inspired looks defined the fun and flirty collection of Label Ritu Kumar. The show ended with Tara Sutaria wearing a fitting, embroidered black dress worn over a white shirt with thigh-high boots. She looked like a cute country girl strutting the ramp!
Rakul Preet Singh For Caprese X Nachiket Barve
About The Collection
Nachiket Barve’s retro collection had such easy-going, comfortable and fluid silhouettes. Rakul Preet Singh carried the gorgeous black jumpsuit so effortlessly. Wasn’t she the perfect showstopper for his collection?
Suman Rao For Abhishek Sharma
About The Collection
The designer was inspired by the union of male and female forms from Mithila paintings. Well-tailored garments and distinct drapes defined his collection. Suman Rao, Miss India 2019 closed the show for Abhishek in a gorgeous black ensemble with the high-neck collar being the highlight.
As you can see, the third day was all about designers highlighting Indian weaves and craftsmanship. I loved how our favourite celebrities helped showcase these intricate and beautiful crafts of our country. Apart from the above-mentioned designers, I also enjoyed Gaurang Shah’s Peshwa collection. It was truly a visual treat and incorporated traditional Paithani and Jamdani sarees. Simba X Kanika Goyal‘s street style collection was super cool and funky. The relaxed silhouettes with coloured sunglasses and sneakers are totally my style. Would I want to wear this collection? 100% yes! Check out some of our favourite picks from the other collections.
