Listen up, girls! If you are going to be a bridesmaid soon, chances are that you are hunting for outfit ideas online or browsing through multiple magazines or visiting various designer stores or scrolling different websites – basically doing anything and everything till you nail that perfect #ootn for your BFF’s special day.
Having been a bridesmaid myself recently, allow me to take the liberty of saying that I know a thing or two about getting the perfect ‘banno ki saheli‘ outift. Speaking from personal experience, there are a couple of pre-requisites to keep in mind before investing in a lehenga/anarkali/sharara, whatever floats your boat.
First and foremost is your comfort, of course. You’ll be running a lot of errands for your girl on her D-day, which might include lifting her tremendously heavy lehenga while she pee-pees. Therefore, you gotta be easy, relaxed and yet look kickass. Amirite?! Second in line is taking into account your budget because you don’t want to spend a bomb on a dress for your friend’s wedding, do you?!
When you have these two under control, move on to deciding your colour, cut, silhouette, jewellery, makeup etc. Not to forget, how to make all outfit different from one another so that you look unique for each of the wedding functions.
In an attempt to make your ‘search’ slightly easier, we curated a list of outfits which includes everything from traditional sarees to designer ones, gorgeous lehengas, Indo-western designs, anarkalis with ethnic embroidery et al. We didn’t have to look any further than our TV divas whose style checks all the boxes – glamorous, affordable and relatable.
P.S – Don’t forget to pay close attention to the hairstyles and while you are at it, make notes for the jewellery too.
