Although face masks and serums work well to deliver luminous skin, there’s no quicker fix than swiping on a highlighter. Since I’ve tried a fair share out of highlighters over the past few years, I thought that it was time to list out my current favourite formulas.
1. Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter In ‘Rose Gold’
This highlighter has won several awards and praises for a reason. The finely milled powder glides on to skin, without caking, to deliver a lit-from-within complexion. I’m a huge fan of this pinkish-golden hue and love the way it makes my cheekbones pop.
2. Benefit Cosmetics Sun Beam
I’ve been obsessed with this formula all throughout the summer. The golden-bronze shade blends in seamlessly to play up tanned skin and provides a sun kissed glow like no other. Since it has a very natural finish, I use it all over my body – from my cheekbones and forehead, right to my collarbones and shoulders. I’ve even mixed a tiny bit in with my body lotion to add a little gleam to my legs.
3. Fenty Beauty Match Stix In ‘Trippin’
Aren’t makeup sticks just the best? Creamy, shimmery and easy to use, this highlighting stick is the one I always travel with. This apricot shade goes on smoothly to give my cheeks a pop of colour and a whole lot of radiance. Plus, the formula stays put for quite a few hours which makes it ideal for vacation days when I don’t want to touch-up my face. What more could I possibly ask for?
4. Bobbi Brown Shimmer Compact In ‘Bronze’
I had honestly picked up this compact as a gift for my mother, but unfortunately for her, I fell in love with it! The array of hues go together beautifully to deliver a soft-focus and candlelit glow that I just can’t get enough of. Since it is quite pigmented, I use only a light dusting to get the results I want.
5. NYX Born To Glow Liquid Illuminator In ‘Pure Gold’
Don’t underestimate the powers of a drugstore highlighter! This liquid formula literally melts into skin, without emphasising any problem areas. The pretty golden shade complements my complexion and leaves behind a subtle, pearlescent finish that makes my skin glisten in the sunlight.
Have you tried any of these highlighters out before? I would love to hear your thoughts on them!
