As funny as it sounds, sometimes I find it hard to believe that there are people out there who can see clearly without the help of glasses or contacts. Leaving the house without having my glasses or contact lenses on sounds like a nightmare. However, finding eye makeup that’s suitable for contact lens wearers is even worse! If I got a penny for every time my eyes watered after applying mascara, I’d be able to afford that trip to Ibiza that I’ve always dreamed of… On that note, fortunately for us four-eyed peeps I found these eye makeup products that are ophthalmologist approved and suitable to wear with contact lenses:
1. Clinique Lid Pop
This product is specially formulated for people who wear contacts lenses and for those who have sensitive eyes. It has a silky finish and it’s highly pigmented. I’ve personally used this product and I can safely say that it’s amazing! It lasts all day without creasing and it doesn’t make my eyes water. It comes in many colours, so you can take your pick.
2. Lancôme Grandiôse Liner
I’m a person whose makeup routine is not complete without winged eyeliner. On that note, trust me when I say this, I’ve tried over 20 different eyeliners from various brands and this one is a clear winner! This eyeliner has a water-based formula and it’s suitable for people with sensitive eyes and those who wear contact lenses. Besides its stellar formula and finish, what differentiates this eyeliner from the others is its bendable wand. This product’s wand is bendable at 35° which helps achieve precise application.
3. Plum Natur Studio All-Day-Wear Kohl Kajal
Kajal is definitely one eye makeup product that should be ophthalmologically tested and approved since it is applied directly to the waterline. If your kajal contains harmful ingredients, the residue may linger in your contact lenses which in turn might cause a nasty eye infection. That’s why this kajal from Plum is perfect for contact lens wearers. It’s gel-based and it’s formulated without any preservatives, parabens and mineral oil.
4. Maybelline New York Total Temptation Mascara
If you’re looking for a mascara with build-able density and one that can be easily removed, then this product is for you! Besides it being ophthalmologically-tested, this mascara is also very easy to remove so you won’t irritate your eyes while removing your makeup.
5. The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Butter
This cleansing butter is a much gentler alternative to micellar water. This cleansing butter is tough while removing makeup but gentle on the skin. It has natural ingredients and it helps you nourish your skin while simultaneously removing your makeup.
