The ongoing Bharat promotions has been ground for some discussions for the netizens and media alike. The reasons ranging from Salman Khan‘s various looks in the film, Katrina Kaif channelling her inner Desi diva, and Disha Patani‘s Slow Motion song with Salman. But one thing that became quite the topic of discussion was Salman taking a dig at Priyanka Chopra.
The Mary Kom actress was going to star in the film initially but backed out because she was getting married to Nick Jonas at that time. This doesn’t seem to have gone well with Sallu, who made a few statements about Priyanka’s personal decisions that were not appreciated by many. Sona Mohapatra was one of them, who took to Twitter to call him out for his mean comments against PC.
She said that Priyanka has “better things to do in life and young girls to inspire” and that Salman is a “poster child of toxic masculinity” whose actions were a “disregard and contempt” to both Priyanka and Katrina. She even called out the memes which troll Priyanka for her age gap with Nick, whereas they disregard Salman’s age gap with his heroines like Katrina and Alia Bhatt.
Here’s her tweet thread:
A showcase & poster child of toxic masculinity. Low brow dig at not only a woman who was not in the room but a disgusting disregard & contempt for the woman & colleague sitting next to him in the same room. Unless we call out such serial bad behaviour, nothing changes, #India .🔴 https://t.co/NuEmOWQl12

Cus @priyankachopra has better things to do in life, real men to hang out with & more importantly, girls to inspire with her journey. 🤟🏾🔴

Trying telling that to his fans who shadow his toxicity & are calling her derogatory names on my timeline. They meme her 10 year age gap with her husband but conveniently forget that their idol is close to 20 years older than her. Grow up, you fools, I say to them.🙏🏾🔴 https://t.co/M9sthpUQd1

Now, let’s see what the people concerned have to say to this.
