Most people have the notion that a beauty editor only uses and champions the expensive, high-end luxury products they get gifted on day-to-day. However, that’s far from the truth. Since college, where the power of affordability was key, I’ve always been familiar with how amazing drugstore products can be.
Over the years of working as the beauty editor, I’ve amassed a collection of the best and the most versatile beauty products —from hair to skin, to makeup, I’ve listed below the products that never fail to be so awesome, I regularly head out to buy them every couple of months!
1. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
This oil-free concealer is one of the best drugstore ones I’ve used. A little goes a long way in coverage and conceals redness and dark spots very well.
2. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths
Being a huge champion and fan of everything under the Cetaphil range, I had to try these wipes I found at an airport drugstore. And like the name suggests, it’s gentle on the skin, fragrance-free and perfect for when you’re on the go.
3. NYX Concealer Correct Contour Palette
A correcting palette that conceals, corrects and contours, is definitely work investing in. It comes in a light, medium and dark shade range, with six shades to choose from in each set. The texture is a little heavy but very buildable.
4. Jergens Daily Moisture Fragrance-Free Moisturizer
One of my favourite brand of moisturisers, Jergen’s offers up insane hydration. I’ve noticed that when I apply it right before bed, I tend to wake up with softer skin. And the bonus is that it’s perfect for sensitive skin.
5. Kiko Milano Standout Volume Waterproof Mascara
Having used (and currently owning) about 25 mascaras, I’ve genuinely loved how this Kiko one gives my lashes length and volume. And whether one coat or five, it’s a great product to enhance the eyes.
6. OGX Brazilian Keratin Therapy Shampoo & Conditioner
Having curly and frizzy hair, and living in a city like ours, it can sometimes be stressful for our mane. This particular OGX shampoo and conditioner is packed with coconut oil, keratin, avocado oil and cocoa butter that hydrates and keeps the hair looking more alive.
7. L’Oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Foundation
One of the easiest and most blendable liquid foundations I’ve used. It never turns ashy or too chalky for me. And I actually love that the pump disposes just the right amount of product.
Do you already own any of these products? Also, would you recommend any other drugstore ones for me? Let me know in the comments below…
