Just in case you don’t already know, Bigg Boss runner-up and popular TV actress, Hina Khan attended the 72nd edition of the Cannes film festival this year. We are extremely proud of Hina, of course, for scaling such heights solely on the basis of her hard work and dedication. Attending the prestigious event is no mean feat but there she was!
The actress looked splendid as she walked the red carpet for the unveiling of her film, Lines. (Check out a few pictures from her debut appearance here.) Hina’s friends from the industry, Arjun Bijlani, Karanvir Bohra, Vikas Kalantri, Aashka Goradia, Karan Grover etc. also applauded and acknowledged her achievement.
Inevitably, there were a few snide remarks too. One of them was from Filmfare’s editor-in-chief, Jitesh Pillai who shared a picture of Hina at the Cannes’ red carpet on his Instagram story.
Check out the post he shared, which has now been taken down:
Needless to say, Jitesh’s comment was below the belt and many felt he crossed a boundary, even if he meant it as a joke. Soon enough, Hina’s fans and several colleagues from the TV industry immediately raised their voice against Jitesh’s unfair statement.
Take a look here:
Many felt that Jitesh undermined Hina’s journey of hard work and struggle by ridiculing her presence at the Festival De Cannes. A few others condemned him for looking down upon TV actors even though it’s a medium with the widest reach, often used by Bollywood superstars for their gain as well. Others also pointed out that television has been a stepping stone for many film actors from the current lot.

Jitesh’s comment was definitely in poor taste and thousands of Hina’s fans are demanding an apology from him. What do you guys have to say about it?
