Although I love all kinds of makeup products, I’ve got a soft spot for stick formulas. Apart from being super easy to use, these travel-friendly products are perfect for me because I can literally do up my face in the back of a car, without worrying about smudging or over-doing my makeup! Since I’ve tried a lot of these products out, I thought that it was time to list out some of my favourites.
1. Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Stick Foundation
Whilst I own both the liquid and stick version of this foundation, the latter is the one that I reach for the most! The creamy formula blends like a dream to provide me with medium and natural-looking coverage. In just a few swipes, I’m able to create an even base of makeup that doesn’t look cakey or shiny.
2. Revlon PhotoReady™Concealer
This is my go-to concealer when I’ve stayed up too late. Not only does it expertly camouflage any dark circles, but also subtly brightens up the area under my eyes to help me fake a well-rested look. It even covers up any emerging blemishes, which tend to appear if I’ve gorged on dessert the night before!
3. Fenty Beauty Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick
Part highlighter, part blush, this shimmery product is pure perfection. I own the hue, ‘Trippin’, which is a gold-toned apricot, and can vouch for how it transforms my face. On days when I’m going for a natural look, I swipe on a teensy amount and blend it in to get a flush of colour. For a more glamorous event, I layer on more to get a blindingly beautiful highlight. Either way, this baby delivers!
4. Clinique Chubby Stick™ Sculpting Contour
Although I don’t contour my face regularly, certain days call for a strong jawline. This creamy, matte stick helps me add depth and colour to my face in an instant. Since the formula practically melts into skin, this stick is pretty much mistake-proof. All I do is glide the colour on and then buff it in with a makeup brush.
5. Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick
Eye shadow sticks are one of my favourite makeup inventions. These luxurious ones are quite pigmented, so all you need is a few strokes to get a statement eye. ‘Sunlight Gold’ and ‘Dusty Mauve’ are two shades that I can’t get enough of.
