Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora were once the B-town power couple that people looked up to. But unfortunately, their marriage hit the rocks a few years ago, shocking everyone. While Arbaaz and Mala, each, have rarely opened up about the reasons for their split, the former has been quite open about his relationship with his new girlfriend Georgia Adriani. Meanwhile, Malaika hasn’t been as open about her relationship with Arjun Kapoor, although the two have been quite open with their public appearances and appreciative Instagram comments on each other’s pictures. Now, Arbaaz has finally opened up about his divorce with Malaika and it’s worth listening to him. He spoke to Good Times about his split and his views on marriage.
He said:
Everything seemed fine but it crumbled. Things don’t work out, and it’s only fair that two people who want to take their life in their own hands will take that decision.
He further added that he still believes in the institution of marriage. On being asked whether he would still recommend marriage to other people, he replied positively.
Of course, I would. This institution has gone on for hundreds and thousands of years. It’s like if you know that you’re going to die, you won’t stop living. Of course, the times are changing, even in the past people didn’t get married.
Earlier this year, Malaika had also opened up about her divorce on her friend, Kareena Kapoor Khan‘s radio show, What Women Want. She had talked about how her family had asked her even a day before the divorce whether she was sure she wanted to go through with it. And how all her loved ones kept on asking her to maybe give another shot.
Meanwhile, Arbaaz has opened up about his relationship with Georgia several times and he feels there is no point in hiding it either.
